Motorola Solutions celebrates 3.5 millionth TETRA radio shipped

While most of the general public pays attention to what Lenovo's Motorola is up to, the industrial side of the Motorola brand, and the original Motorola business, Motorola Solutions, has been doing a lot of work lately and is a very successful company.

Today, they announced through a press release that they have shipped 3.5 million TETRA radios globally It's a huge milestone for the company, making it one of the most successful two-way radio systems of all time.

“The delivery of the 3.5 millionth TETRA radio terminal reinforces our position as a trusted market leader in providing mission-critical solutions to public safety and commercial organisations worldwide,” said Mark Schmidl, corporate vice president of sales for Motorola Solutions EMEA. To celebrate this accomplishment, Motorola presented a special edition to the German Federal Police chief, inspired by the German flag.

Motorola Solutions provides public-safety and business solutions to companies and government agencies across the world. The company has around 20,000 employees and is worth $14.15B dollars. Motorola Solutions is the legal successor to Motorola, Inc., while Motorola Mobility was the result of the spin-off of the mobile division.
