This week in MOTO: Nougat updates, Moto Z2 leaks, new launch event soon

These are the main stories of the week in the Motorola Fans world. Though we took a bit over two weeks, these are some cool stories you can't miss:

Software updates: The Moto X Style got the Nougat update rolled out. This was something its users had been waiting for some time, and now they finally have access to the new Motorola boot animation and all the Nougat improvements over Marshmallow. You can check that out here.

New event coming: Motorola is holding a launch event on July 25th in New York City. It's called HelloMoto World, so it might mean we'll see more than just a phone. It might be the next generation Moto X, or the Moto Z2, which we already know a lot thanks to Moto teasing us with some pics since February. In fact, Motorola even showed us the front and back of it some days ago. This will definitely make it up for the June 27th launch event in which we all expected it to come and it didn't. The Moto Z sold 3 million units, by the way.

Moto Z2 Play and Mods talk: The Moto Z2 Play has launched in the US. It's now available on Verizon for $408 and will be available unlocked soon. We also compared it to last year's Z Play, in case you can't decide which one to get. Moto also announced some new Mods, including a Rokr speaker and a DirecTV Mod.

Motorola Home is on a roll-a: the Motorola brand keeps getting bigger. The new smart camera, called VERVE Cam+, is now available. The stylish ORBIT camera was also unboxed this week. 

Miscellaneous: An unreleased Android concept popped up last week, showing a Kevlar body and a Droid-looking design. We also talked about the Moto M getting Nougat, something that gives us hope regarding the new Mediatek-powered Motorola phones.
